Sharing an internet connection either Dialup or Broadband is not that difficult at all. There are two ways you can share an internet connection. First one is cheap but it can only share internet with two computers and you have to power on both computers in order to share internet. Second one is expensive but its a pratical method.

Method no 1:

In Case of DialUp Internet Connection

In this method all you need are Pc lan Cards and a Cross over cable. This method can only be applied on just two computers. you need only one lan card for one computer just because you already have a Dialup modem in order to connect internet. Now plugin your telephone wire in your modem and install lan cards in both Computers if not already installed. Then plugin crossover cable in both Lan cards as shown in picture.

After installing all the cables now you need to run windows network setup wizard on both computers. During wizard You have to select a one computer which is directly connected to internet as your main computer. After installation restart both your computers and here we go both your computers have internet connection.

In Case of Broadband Internet Connection

In this method all you need are Pc lan Cards and a Cross over cable. This method can only be applied on just two computers. you need two Lan cards for computer which is directly connected to internet and one for other computer. After this install lan cards in both Computers if not already installed. Now plugin your telephone wire in your broadband modem and then plugin cat-V cable from modem to your computer lan card. Then plugin crossover cable in both computers Lan cards as shown in picture.

After installing all the cables now you need to run windows network setup wizard on both computers. During wizard You have to select a one computer which is directly connected to internet as your main computer. After installation restart both your computers and here we go both your computers have internet connection.

Method no 2:

This is a much expensive method from earlier one but this is much easier and the best way to share a internet connection. In this method you need router and Cat-v cables for connection. There are many kinds of routers now a days in the market. linksys wireless Broadband router is one of these as shown below.

This is a very useful device not only it share internet connection but it can also used for small home or office networking. It has built in wireless so you can establish both wired or wireless networks. It has also built in firewall which protects you from internet hackers and spamers.

Sharing internet connection with router is very easy just plugin your modem wire into ethernet port of router and then plugin cat-V cables from router to as many computer as you want and thats it. you are ready to go no installation required.
